Planning a Recurring Supply Requirement

Recurring supply is a different exercise from a one-off purchase. Planning changes the conditions you can negotiate.

A recurring supply requirement is not simply a repeated one-off. It deserves its own planning.

Forecast volumes and frequency

Estimate the volumes and the frequency of reorders over the period you can reasonably forecast. This is the basis for any framework agreement.

Define the commercial framework

A recurring requirement opens the door to framework conditions: price stability, agreed lead times and minimum quantities. These are negotiated, not assumed.

Plan documentation and quality

For recurring supply, consistency matters. Define the documentation expected at each delivery and the quality checks that apply over time.

Planning a recurring requirement does not lock you in, but it gives the supplier something to plan against — and that is where better conditions come from.
